Mylon’s Training & Experience

Mylon has completed the Associate Degree in Music at the Barbados Community College. He aims to be an international performer as well as a recording artist and teacher. In 2013, Mylon was chosen by the BCC Music Department to participate in a series of workshops with the living jazz legend Marcus Belgrave (who was also the last living member and trumpeter of Ray Charles’ band) These workshops culminated in a performance with Mr. Belgrave at a sunset jazz concert. Mylon was also privileged to study and perform with international saxophonist Arturo Tappin.

In the summer of 2014, Mylon attended the summer performance program at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, as the recipient of the 2013 Sagicor Christmas Jazz Berklee Scholarship. Mylon has shared the stage and toured the Caribbean, UK and Canada with many local and international artists. He also shared the stage with Grammy Award Winner Lalah Hathaway (singer and daughter of Donny Hathaway) and Grammy Award Winner Maurice Brown (trumpeter) at the annual Christmas Jazz Concert.
